My daughter Mandy and I went to NYC for a whirlwind trip that included sightseeing, the Museum of Modern Art, the Broadway musical, "American Idiot", a visit to the NBC Studios and Rockefeller Center, Top of the Rock; the Museum of Sex, lunch out with WestSide Books' Evelyn Fazio & Ed Yamada and my agent, Gina Panettieri; the Strand Bookstore (18 miles of books!), using the NY subway system A LOT, FAO Schwartz, Union Square, Grand Central Station; touring the Art of Rockefeller Center; an art festival on Union Square, a Behind-the-Scenes tour of the Broadway play "Wicked", eating NY pizza (yum!) AND NY Mexican food (Tx's status as the Tex-Mex capital of the world remains unchallenged) AND NY ravioli & lasagne AND NY bagels.. 

Meeting up with Evelyn, Ed, and Gina was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the trip-- and spending time with my oldest child was priceless.
