This is Teacher Appreciation Week, and in honor of all you (us) hard-working teachers (I've taught school for 14 years!), I'm holding a contest!

The Patience Trilogy (Courage - Book 1, Hope - Book 2, and Truth - Book 3), is the story of fifteen-year-old Ashley's brave journey through recovery from childhood sexual abuse-- and they're also the story of how her stepmother, Bev, a high school English teacher, breaks through Ashley's fear of being hurt and helps her learn to trust again.
The teachers in The Patience Trilogy: Bev Asher, Mary Ann Manos, Coach Griffin, Mrs. Alexander-- are all very important to the lives of their students-- just like the men and women in "real life" who work tirelessly to help kids reach the stars.
I'm celebrating my colleagues in the teaching profession this week by holding a contest: post a comment below with your nominee for an outstanding educator. I'll draw one name from all the nominees and I'll send the winner a 25.00 Barnes & Noble gift card-- AND I'll send signed copies of HOPE IN PATIENCE to both the winner and the person who nominated him or her!
Contest ends Saturday, May 12 at 11:59 P.M., so give a shout out to a teacher you'd like to honor before the deadline!
